In addition, the 28 year old singer has recently spoke to MTV about the video, reuniting with hitmaker Darkchild, launching her 'Human' LP on Oprah and more:

She has enlisted some hip-hop heavyweights, including director Little X (Usher’s “Yeah”), for the video and is reuniting with producer Rodney Jerkins for the first time in six years. Brandy insists she and Rodney have moved far beyond any past conflicts, saying, “The chemistry brought Rodney and I back together. It’s undeniable, it’s magical. … We are back, and I’m never leaving Rodney again.”

And if that weren’t enough, Human’s official launch will take place on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on November 10, the day before it drops. For Brandy, that day can’t come soon enough.

“It feels so great to be back on the scene,” she said. ” … I went through a struggle, and I really needed to get myself together and connect with my purpose, which is music. Music is all I know how to do, so to be on this set today, I feel really blessed for the second chance and for the opportunity … and for everybody here just showing me so much love and support. … It just feels good to be back, and I never want to leave again for that long!”

On the set, Ms. Norwood’s genuine excitement to be back must have been contagious, as both Jerkins and her brother Ray J showed up to make cameos in the video. “I canceled all my plans to be here in this video, because I know how important it is to her,” Ray J said.

Brandy said that her dedicated fans are the main priority: “I just really hope the world embraces me back, because I’m embracing them with my music. I made it for them.”

This is set to be one of the best VMA's ever!
All we need now is Britney!

Here is the official statement from MTV.com :

In the past couple of weeks, Lil Wayne, the Jonas Brothers and Kid Rock have all been confirmed to take the 2008 Video Music Awards stage. But what about the ladies? Viewers concerned about the lack of female artists at the big show can stop worrying.

On Thursday (August 21), MTV revealed that pop-punk outfit Paramore, who've been nominated in the Best Art Direction in a Video and Best Rock Video categories, will be returning to the VMAs as performers, as will Pink and Rihanna, who could walk away with the Moonman for Best Female Video.

Paramore will rock the crowd with a lively performance of their hit "Misery Business," while Pink is set to perform her new single, "So What," and Rihanna will deliver her latest smash, "Disturbia." A list of presenters and additional acts gracing the VMA stage will be announced in the coming weeks. This year's awards show, which airs live September 7 at 9 p.m. from the legendary Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, will be hosted by British comic and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" co-star Russell Brand.

Our friends over at Rap-Up.com have received official word on Ciara's much anticipated new single - the first from forthcoming LP 'Fantasy Ride'. Both produced and featuring T-Pain, 'Go Girl' will serve as the record's first release.

What's more, after initially being slated for a November release, 'Fantasy Ride', the 22 year old's conceptual 'musical journey', will now hit stores in early December - 2 years after the release of her sophomore effort 'The Evolution'.

Yet another T-Pain feature...hmmm. Here's hoping the current plans remain as they are; I mean I've had previous lead single 'High Price' in constant rotation and had been anticipating the video. Oh well...roll on December.

Amy Winhouse got booed last night when she arrived 20 minutes late to a gig @ Staffordshire, England.
The "Rehab" singer was, as usual, obviouslt OTI and looked exhausted and drained aswel as dirty.

I feel so sorry for this girl. She really does need help and all people seem to do is talk shit about her. As if she realizes what's wrong. She's off her face 95% of the time. What do you expect?
I blame her parents. They really don't do enough to help her. Apparently her mum gives her a budget of £300 a week so she won't do drugs...Ummm......
I think "Rehab" really is the answer here Mrs Winehouse.

Just days after Brandy's comeback single "Right Here (Departed)" hit the www, the star's new label Epic records have issued a press release on her upcoming 5th studio album "Human", which will be dropping November 11th.

NEW YORK, Aug 15, 2008 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Epic Records proudly announces the release of "Human," the new full-length studio album from the multi-platinum-selling Grammy-winning R&B/pop music superstar Brandy, available online and in stores on Tuesday, November 11.

Brandy's Epic Records debut and first new album since 2004's Grammy-nominated RIAA gold-certified "Afrodisiac," "Human" is a bold new collection of songs reflecting the artist's evolution as a musician and an individual.

"'Human' is my most personal album to date," said Brandy. I have grown so much since my last album. Being able to express myself and my journey through my music is a feeling I can't describe. With this new chapter of my life it feels good to have Rodney, a familiar face, by my side again. He brings out emotions in me like nobody else."

Reunited with executive producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who first collaborated with Brandy on her 1998 multi-platinum-selling collection "Never Say Never," Brandy has created the most emotionally resonant album of her career with songs and performances reflecting the truth and complexity of her experiences.

"It feels good to be back in the lab with Brandy again," said Rodney Jerkins. "We've always made great records and I'm humbled and honored to be continuing our legacy. The sound might be new, bigger, and more uplifting but we've kept our musical promise by making great songs and great music once again. There is no musical combination like ours!!!"

The album's title is a real life mirror of Brandy as a woman, an artist, a musician and a performer, communicating what it means to be fully "Human": strong yet vulnerable, candid and triumphant, in love with life and in touch with the things of the spirit.

"Right Here (Departed)," the first single from "Human," will impact Pop radio on September 16. The single and ringtone are scheduled to be released on August 26, with a digital pre-order for the album slated the same day.

Other key tracks on "Human" include "Fall," which Brandy co-wrote with the chart-topping British dance/pop singer/songwriter Natasha Bedingfield, as well as the new songs "Long Distance," "Piano Man," and "Torn Down." Brandy's other musical collaborators on Human include Brian Kennedy (Rihanna/"Disturbia"), emerging production whiz RedOne (Kat DeLuna, 2006 World Cup Official Single "Hips Don't Lie" with Shakira & Wyclef Jean), and James Fauntleroy (Jordin Sparks/"No Air").

I cannot wait for this! Brandy is and has always been my favourite R&B female artist and "human" is one fo my favourite words...What?!

01. “When I Grow Up” (produced by Darkchild)
02. “Bottle Pop” (produced by Fernando Garibay and Sean Garrett)
03. “In Person” (produced by Timbaland and Danja) (written by The Clutch)
04. “Whatever Happens” (produced by Ryan Tedder)
05. “Psycho” (produced by Ron Fair)
06. “Away” (produced by Fernando Garibay and Sean Garrett)
07. “I Hate This Part” (produced by Timbaland)
08. “Barely Breathe” (Wirtten by Ryan Tedder)
09. “Fly the World” (produced by Ron Fair)
10. “If I Were a Man” (produced by Scott Storch) (written by Miriam Nervo and Michael Smith)
11. “Watchamacallit” (produced by Sean Garrett and Polow da Don)

Although not a huge PCD fan they do have some good R&B/Pop tracks. I'm in love with their new single (partially because Darkchild is the best producer of the decade IMO).
As for the tracklisting, well, it's (if anything), interesting...:P

Russel don't be such a creep. What makes you think you can make a move on Brit like that?
Jayzuss! Did you see that?! The touchin-her-leg and the youve-got-a-bit-of-hair-on-your-face?

Have some respect lad. That's Pop royalty you're sniffing.

Def Jam star Rihanna has landed her 4th #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with 'Disturbia'. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the track jumped from #3-#1 this week, leap-frogging rumored boyfriend Chris Brown's 'Forever' which remains at #2 for a second week.

It's interesting to note that 3 of the 4 of the 20 year old's US #1's have been from her most recent LP 'Good Girl Gone Bad'.

Congratulations where congratulations are due; it's an amazing feat for such a young artist. That said, it goes to show how far questionable talent mixed with killer promo and a label/management constructed image can take you. Evidently very far....well far enough for the quality of the garbage you insist on putting out to not be a factor of your success. Go Rihanna!
